About Sarah
Hello I'm Sarah,
I am a friendly and warm Pilates teacher who has bundles of empathy and patience. I am passionate about helping others to improve their overall health. The Pilates methodology will improve muscle tone, achieve better posture and increase strength and mobility into old age, enabling us to do the things we love in life for as long as possible.
I understand that every single body is unique and beautiful and each and every one of us deserves to live a pain free life with a strong body that we can be proud of.
I have an Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in instructing Pilates mat work. I have also achieved a continued professional development certificate in 'Pilates for runners'. I am a keen runner myself and know how important Pilates is to aid running - as well as all sports. I understand the principles of movement, the science behind it and how to help people recover from injury, reduce pain and move more freely.
What I love about Pilates is that anyone can do it from the elite sports person to a complete beginner. From those with serious injuries to those living with conditions such as osteoporosis or arthritis. From pregnant ladies to pre and post menopausal ladies. Pilates can be practiced by people of all ages. The list is endless. I believe passionately that EVERY body can benefit from practicing Pilates. My classes are designed and choreographed for beginners and intermediate clients, with progressions offered for each exercise aimed to challenge and motivate even someone who has been practicing for many years.
Pilates literally enables us to stand taller by counteracting the effects of every day life. "Civilisation impairs physical fitness". Quote by Joseph Pilates. This couldn't be more true, especially now when we spend so much of our life in a sedentary state and hunched over screens. As we age, not many people escape sore hips, aching shoulder muscles and stiff spines. Pilates focuses also on body mindfulness and makes us more aware of how we move in every day life. Pilates is not only beneficial for core strength, muscle tone and mobility but also for overall mental health and physical wellbeing.
I am so proud and excited to be able to spread the Pilates love. "The whole country, the whole world should be doing my exercises. They'd be happier." Quote by Joseph Pilates. Pilates really does help those suffering from mental health issues and decreases depression and anxiety.
Pilates is a complementary form of exercise using a connection between the mind and the body. Each person's Pilates journey is different. Be open to the mental developments as well as the physical. Bring the balance to your life with PURE PILATES.
